8 Days Rwanda-Uganda Safari

Day 1; Pickup at Airport, transfer to Gisakura
Select Adventure Safaris guide will be at Kigali International Airport awaiting your arrival (hopefully morning), meet and greet before taking a brief city tour to get a positive picture of safaris to Rwanda. You will share a cup of coffee at a restaurant at Gisozi Genocide Museum, get used to each other, visit the museum and later the Caplaki Craft Centre and then begin transferring south west to Nyungwe forest lodge for a night.

Day 2: Tracking Chimpanzees in Nyungwe
Wake up early morning take a hot cup of coffee and proceed to park offices for chimpanzee tracking and other interesting discoveries on Rwanda tour. The forest has a rich diversity and besides chimpanzees there are close to 270 bird species, lots of trees, insects and large mammals. You will spend approximately 5 hours in the thick forest admiring nature before returning to start off point to relax and have lunch. You will do a canopy walk and admire wildlife from a raised elevation with scenic views of steep volcanic mountains rising into the skies before driving off to Kibuye; a coastal town to relax by the lake and enjoy the breezes and shake off chimpanzee tracking fatigue on Rwanda safari.

Day 3: Lake Kivu excursion and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Enjoy your morning sleep as sweet sounds of waves washing off the lake shores keep trickling in and calm your nerves on this Rwandan safari. You will take breakfast in the lawns and watch a stunning sunset over the lake before taking a boat cruise to explore the lake interiors. You will take an early lunch and then transfer further north to Mountain Gorilla view lodge on the foothills of Volcanoes National Park. Check in at your hotel and sleep to strange sounds emanating from the thick forests and get unique and strange feelings on this Rwanda tour.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking

This is a dream day for many adventure travellers into Rwanda and starts early morning with a hot cup of coffee. The safari guide takes you to park tourism office for registration, meeting other trekkers; get ranger guides and briefs about forest regulations and then gorilla trekking starts. You will spend approximately an hour with the gorilla family once sighted before your return journey to the offices and hotel for lunch. You will take a guided community walk and get live experiences of Rwandan homesteads; listen to their moving stories, dance to their music and sample their traditional foods that make safaris into Rwanda quite different from other places.

Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi excursion, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

Get up at sunrise and take a quick breakfast before bidding farewell to Rwanda and crossing the boundary at Cyanika border post into Uganda. Your Uganda safari starts with an exciting boat trip on Lake Bunyonyi shortly before lunch on the shores of the lake.  You will descend the steep Kigezi hills onto Ankole plains on the way to Queen Elizabeth National Park with brief stopovers at Ankole tea estate and Kichwamba escarpments before arriving at your hotel in the evening and experience wonderful feelings of Uganda safari

Day 6: Morning game drive, boat cruise

Wake up before the first light of the day, take a hot cup of coffee and get into the car as our safari guide and ranger guide will be waiting to take you on a memorable Uganda wildlife safari. Queen Elizabeth is a dream destination for travellers on safari into Uganda because of high concentration of mammals, birds, beautiful vegetation and other wildlife species are resident in the park. Day 7: Chimpanzee Tracking, Forest walk

Wake up early morning; take a hot cup of coffee and with lunch boxes set off for Fig Tree tourism office to track chimpanzee families in the steep sided Kyambura gorge. Families of habituated chimpanzees roam a river line forest on the bed of the gorge and interacting with them as they feed and go about their routine activities is magnet for safaris to Uganda and one of the most exciting adventure activities travellers dream to take part in. You will take your picnic lunch at Imaramagambo forest campsite shortly before taking visiting the bat cave and view resident African rock pythons feed on bats. You will do an evening game drive on the way back to your hotel.

Day 8: Transfer to Entebbe
Your Uganda safari is coming to an end and take breakfast before sunlight before checking out for a 6 hour transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight. You will have a brief stop at Equator line crossing area for a cup of coffee, brief geographic experiment, photographic opportunity and walk from south to northern hemisphere. You will arrive in Kampala early afternoon and safari driver drop you at Entebbe for your outbound flight marking end of Uganda safari.
