Queen Elizabeth National Park is 1,978km wide spread along the base of the western arm of great African rift valley; an area with superior potential for tourism in Uganda.   The park has so many water bodies unevenly spread through her corners with Lakes George in the east, Edward in the west and the Kazinga Channel adjoining them the most visible prominent features.  Unmistakably, these are the exact sites to easily locate many wildlife species on safaris to Uganda putting in mind time of the day.  The high concentration of the wildlife species in this park most likely is related to reliable water bodies for their survival through the year.

Queen was formerly called Kazinga and only renamed in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Great Britain’s historical visit to Uganda in 1954. One leg of her Uganda safari took her to this park.  From time immemorial this park has always attracted a very big portion of travellers on safaris to Uganda because of her outstanding natural beauty. Her breathtaking natural sceneries include empty craters ringed with very attractive lush savannah vegetation This is permanent residence to more than 90 mammal species; lions, buffalos, elephants, leopards, elands, hippopotamus, giant forest hogs, topis and many other large mammals. Experienced birders have recorded in excess of 500 bird species and at Kyambura gorge visitors track chimpanzees on foot previously habituated over long periods of time.
