8 Days rwanda gorilla trekking and karisimbi hike

Day 1: Arrival to Rwanda and transfer to volcanoes Rwanda national park.

Upon you arrival to Rwanda on a Rwanda trip/ Rwanda tours our company representative will wait and pic you from the airport and an drive you to volcanoes Rwanda national park, when time allows, you will be able to have brief Kigali city tour visiting the genocide memorial site. Drive to volcanoes about 2 and half drive from Kigali city viewing the awesome scenery of the winding hills and the beautiful green vegetation. Arrive and check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: gorilla trekking and Diana fosse and karisoke research center.

Early in the morning after breakfast, head to the park headquarters for orientation of the tracking exercise as you have a cup of coffee while the cultural performers entertain you. You will have to equip you selves with a number of tracking gears, packed lunch with enough drinking water to quench your thirst while tracking the gorillas.

Proceed to the forest in search for the huge primates on your way you will encounter several bird and animals species topped by the outstanding flora and fauna. It can take about 1-3 hour to find the gorillas, once you meet them, you will be able to interact with them while taking as many photos with them as you can but bearing in mind that you stay with them is restricted to one hour.

As soon you’re done with the tracking exercise, you will meet with your Rwanda insights tours guide to for another trail to the karisoke   research center situated at mountain bisoke where the famous American biologist Dian Fosse conducted her research on gorillas, travelers and visitors are invited to learn about the gorillas and the history of the research center itself. The entire round trip from volcanoes to Karisoke research center can take up to 3 hour. Later drive to your place of accommodation for dinner and a night stay.

Day 3:  mountain karisimbi climbing

Early in the morning after breakfast, you guide will take to the starting point of the mount karisimbi trail the 5th highest snow caped mountain in Africa, the mountain climbing takes 2 days. Mountain karisimbi borders Congo.

In preparation you should be able to carry along what is needed for mountain climbing exercise including food and the camping gear and many other. Meals i.e. lunch and dinner will be prepared the guide at various stop over or camps the hike is accompanied by opportunities to view several bird species, animals and primates in addition to the vegetation. While climbing one will notice that there 4 vegetation belts from the bottom consisting of thick forest to the top consisting of barren volcanic mountain, while on the way there are numerous opportunities of taking photo and selfies.

 Day 4: mountain karisimbi climb crossing to Bwindi forest Uganda.

Early in the morning after breakfast, continue with the trail to the summit, which is 4,507 meters above sea level.  Arrive to the summit and take photos before engaging in another journey downward.

 Descending from the summit to the bottom takes about 6 hours. When you get to the bottom, you will join your safari guide. Begin a trip to Bwindi impenetrable forest Uganda. The journey from karisimbi

The Cyanika border crossing takes about one 1: 30 hours. After undergoing the customs and immigration, you will then proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. En-route you will stop and have lunch. After your guide will drive you straight to your hotel/ accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Tracking gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable park.

Early in the morning after breakfast, you guide you to Bwindi park headquarters for your gorilla tracking briefing this is also and experiences of the Uganda safaris. Later move to Bwindi impenetrable forest to track the gorillas. It’s unknown where the specific location of gorilla family you will be allocated can be found but it takes up to 1-6 hours to find the gorilla allocated to you. Upon meeting the gorillas, you interact and learn about them. After tracking get back to the park headquarters and meet your guide who will drive your place of accommodation for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon embark on the community walk around the park, interact with the locals as you visit their homesteads and learn a lot about their culture. Later return to your place of accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: visit Lake Bunyonyi.

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi about 2 hours’ drive from the headquarters of Bwindi impenetrable park. The journey itself is enchanting as it involves driving through the different local communities, winding beautiful hills viewing several terraces with crops. Your guide will take to you accommodation at the shore of the lake Bunyonyi  you arrival is welcomed by the best sceneries of the small crafted island on the lake . The activities at Lake Bunyonyi include swimming and water sports. You will also be to see crocodiles in protected areas places. In the afternoon you will relax at the pools side in you place of accommodation. In the evening dinner will be served and you will have an overnight stay.

DAY 7: Lake Bunyonyi island boat tour and guided nature walks.

Wake up to another   episode of the Uganda tours. After an early morning breakfast, you guide will drive to the lake shores where you will rent a canoe/ small wooden boat options are limitless you can choose motorized one on simple one without an engine. Raw or move with the boats to the small island on the lake visiting the local inhabitants who are the Batwa tribe ( Batwa pygmies). The batwa people are interesting to hang out with you will watch them prepare meals to be precise traditional meals.

As soon as you through with you interesting adventure to the small islands, you will reunite with you Rwanda insights guide to drive you back to you place of accommodation for lunch. After lunch, you will your guide will accompany you to the shore line road to take admixed cultural walk through the forested area viewing small villages and interacting with the locals. Before it get to dusk you will return to you hotel for dinner and a night stay.

Day 8:  Lake Bunyonyi and return to Kigali.

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will relax at Lake Bunyonyi beaches. Later you guide will drive you back to Kigali Rwanda leaving Uganda the journey could take 3- 4hours .  When time allows you will have a brief tour of Kigali visiting the genocide memorial center to have an insight of the 1994 Rwanda genocide and moving to the local markets to buy hand crafted materials to carry home with you.
