Rwenzori Mountains National Park
Rwenzori Mountains National Park : As early as 150 CE great historians were aware of the snow capped “Mountains of the Moon” assumed to be the major source of the Nile and from time immemorial the Rwenzoris have attracted a lot of mystery, controversy, researcher expeditions, explorers and travellers to Uganda. The park is located up the mountains and is an absolute gem for travellers on Uganda safaris interested in mountaineering, hiking and extreme adventure.
The highest peak at Margherita; 5109m makes Rwenzoris the third highest ground in Africa surrounded by unique inextinguishable natural beauty. Because of its stunning beauty and ecological importance, UNESCO listed the Rwenzoris a World Heritage Site.
