Attractions In Kidepo National park  : Kidepo National Park, It’s a stunning park located in north east corner of the country near karenga in kaabong District, between Uganda’s borders  with Sudan and Kenya . The distance from Kampala to Kidepo National Park is approximately 550 kilometres by road. It’s quite a journey, but definitely worth it for the amazing experience. With its breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife, Kidepo is truly precious and worth exploring. The park consists of two major valley systems of the Kidepo and Narus River.

Kidepo National Park covers an area of about 1,442 square kilometres, making it one of Uganda’s largest parks. It’s known for its rugged beauty, dramatic savannahs, and majestic mountain ranges. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras and many other animals. Kidepo National Park also hosts more than 470 kinds of birds and 60 percent of them can not be spotted in any other National parks forexample; marchioness fall, Queen Elizabeth and other National parks. Kidepo National Park is under the management of Uganda wildlife Authority that protect all the national parks in the county

Kidepo National Park is also rich in cultural heritage. The local communities, such as the Karamojong people, have a fascinating way of life that people can learn about and even participate in their traditional dances and ceremonies.

The best time to visit Kidepo is during the dry season which is from September to March since the park is a semi-arid with no heavy rain fall in wet season.  Kidepo can be accessed any time throughout the year depending on the visitors interests though its general climate does differ from the rest of Uganda’s climate.

Accommodation with in and around the park is scarce even very few reasonable options and these include Apoka safari lodge and Nga Moru wildernesses camp of which, the only affordable camp is Apoka rest camps that are managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

Attractions in the Kidepo National Park can be visited all year through though the conditions are more difficult during the rain seasons.

Narus Valley Wildlife Viewing

 This valley is located in the southern part of Kidepo National Park, the Narus Valley is a hotspot for wildlife viewing. This valley is home to a variety of animals and many animals gather around this area to drink water including hyenas, loins, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and numerous bird species. Apoka Tourism Centre

It as the main tourist hub within the park, the Apoka Tourism Centre is located few meters away from luxury safari lodge which is known as Apoka safari lodge and its also near the Kidepo River.
