Queen Elizabeth National Park is 1,978km wide spread along the base of the western arm of great African rift valley; an area with superior potential for tourism in Uganda. The park has so many water bodies unevenly spread through her corners with Lakes George in the east, Edward in the west and the Kazinga Channel adjoining them the most visible prominent features. Queen was formerly called Kazinga and only renamed in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Great Britain’s historical visit to Uganda in 1954.
