10 Days Uganda gorilla, chimpanzee and hiking trip
This 110 Days Uganda gorilla, chimpanzee and hiking trip entail visit to Kibale forest national park for chimpanzee trekking, 3 days hiking through mount Rwenzori area later you will experience the gentle giants of Bwindi in an amazing gorilla trekking safari and finally climaxing with a relaxation at lake Bunyonyi before transferring to Kampala and being dropped off at the airport for your flight home.
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale forest national park.
You will be picked from you lodge as you drive to Kibale forest national park, the drive is quite a long one but thrilling one as it take you through the lush country side of Mityana, Mubende, Kyenjojo, Fort portal town and later to Kibale forest national park, check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 2: chimpanzee trekking and bigodi swamp nature walk.
Early in morning after breakfast, you will head to park headquarters and later proceed to the forest in search for the chimpanzees, as you transcend the forest be on the lookout for other primates such as the monkeys and baboons. Upon meeting the chimpanzee, you will spend a maximum of an hour with them while interacting and taking photos. Later retire to your lodge for a relaxation and lunch. After lunch you will head for a scenic nature walk at bigodi swamps searching for butterflies and several bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Rwenzori mountain area.
In the morning after breakfast, you will visit some of the crater lakes in Kibale , visit tea plantation among others. Transfer to mount Rwenzori area, upon arrival you will check in at your accommodation for relaxation. Dinner and over night at the lodge.
Day 4: NYAKALENGIJA (1615m asl.) – NYABITABA CAMP (2651m asl.)
The central circuit starts at the Rwenzori Mountaineering Services offices at Nyakalengija. You need to arrive in the morning to allow ample time to rent equipment and meet your guides and porters. The trail begins by passing through farmland to the park boundary beyond which it follows a thick forest along the Mubuku River, crossing its Mahoma River tributary before starting a long, steep climb up onto a massive ridge to reach Nyabitaba hut. During this part of the trip you may hear chimpanzee and see black and white colobus, blue monkey and the brilliantly coloured Rwenzori turraco.
Day 5: NYABITABA – JOHN MATTE CAMP (3505m asl.)
From Nyabitaba follow the trail that drops down through the forest to the Kurt Shafer Bridge, just below the confluence of the Mubuku and Bujuku rivers. Passing through the bamboo forest, traverse through a long and exhausting stretch of slippery moss-covered rock. From the Nyamuleju rock shelter, Mount Stanley and Mount Speke can be seen before passing into the zone of the giant heather, lobelia and groundsel. Finally reach John Matte Hut after passing through the tiring bog, for dinner and overnight at the hut.
The hike takes an average of 7 – 8 hours.
Day 6: JOHN MATTE – NYABITABA – NYAKALENGIJA CAMP
From John Matte climb downs from the same trail to Nyabitaba Camp for your lunch. This will take about 5 – 6 hours.
After your lunch, descend back to Nyakalengija for either an overnight at base camp hotels or proceed to your next destination.
The descend from Nyabitaba to Nyakalengija will take 3 – 4 hours.
Day 7 : Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Early in the morning after breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Bwindi forest national park, the drive takes approximately 6 and half hours. Upon aria arrival, you will check in at you lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and Batwa cultural trail.
Early in morning, you transfer to the briefing point to be acquainted on a few gorilla trekking rules, headed with guide you will proceed to the jungles in search for the gorillas, the trekking exercise is an awesome activity but it requires a little bit of fitness to be able to transcend through the muddy slopes especially during the rainy season when the terrain slippery. Continue to the forest and upon meeting the gorillas you will spend a maximum of one hour with them and later head back to your lodge.
In the afternoon, you will head for Batwa cultural trail to experience the culture of the Batwa people .
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.
In the morning you will exit bwindi and transfer to lake Bunyonyi for relaxation you will do a boat cruise on the lake Bunyonyi as well .
Dinner and overnight at bird nest resort
Day 10: Transfer to Kampala.
Early in the morning, you will exit lake Bunyonyi , transfer to Kampala and be dropped off at the airport in time for your flight home.
