This 6 Days uganda gorilla trekking , gorilla habituation and chimpanzee tracking safari starts with a pick up in Kampala and later will see you to Kibale forest national park also known as the primates capital of the world for chimpanzee trekking experience and later to the jungles of Bwindi forest national park for the gorilla trekking and gorilla habituation before exiting in with a flight or drive back to Kampala.
Detialed travel plan
Day 1: Pick up from Kampala and head to Kibale forest national park.
Following your 6 days trip, you will be picked from the airport or hotel you slept in following your arrival from south Africa, later the guide will brief you on the trip, later embark on a drive to Kibale forest national park on the lush countryside of Uganda, upon arrival, you will check in at you lodge where you will have dinner and overnight stay
Dinner and overnight at Chimpundu lodge
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking park and afternoon tour of bigodi swamp.
Early in the morning, you will be picked from your accommodation and transferred to the park headquarters where you will be briefed on the do and don’ts regarding chimpanzee trekking, be assigned the rangers to take you for the tracking exercise. Later ascend to the jungles and in search for the chimpanzees. Upon meeting the chimpanzee, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour with them taking as many photos as you can while observing them as well. Later head back to the park headquarters reunite with your guide and head back to the lodge for lunch.
Later in the afternoon, you will head for nature walk in bigodi swamps seeing birds butterflies. Later head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Forest national park and check in at your lodge.
In morning after breakfast, you will hop in the vehicles and embark on a drive to Bwindi Forest national park in south Western Uganda in the Rushaga sector. Upon arrival you will check in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay .
Dinner and overnight: four gorillas lodge
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and Batwa cultural experience.
Get up in the morning, have breakfast and the guide will pick you up and transfer to you the briefing point/ park headquarters. Be briefed on the gorilla trekking rules and later be a singed gorilla family to trek from as well as ranger guides. Transcend the jungles in search for the endangered mountain gorillas. As you head into the forest, you will find other wildlife like monkeys as well as birds, the trekking exercise can take any time from 1- 5 hours depending on the proximity of the gorilla family you have been assigned to track from , later you move in the jungles you start hearing the sounds of tree shoots breaking that is the sound tree shoots as gorillas are breaking them to feed on them. Upon meeting the gorillas you will be allowed to interact with or see them for a maximum of 1 hour. Later head out and transfer back to the park headquarters, where your guide will transfer you to the lodge.
Later in the afternoon, you will head for the Batwa cultural experiences seeing how the indigenous tribes went about their life as well as their practices. Later dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.
Day 5: Gorilla habituation experience.
On your 5th day of the safari, you will wake up, have breakfast and later head to the park headquarter, where you will be briefed on the gorilla habitation experience, you may have to carry your lunch with because the activity takes about four hours while you are with the gorillas. You will get enough time the gorillas along with the conservationists and researchers. Some of them will be collecting samples of the gorillas. Later you will head back to the park headquarters and to the lodge where you will have your rest.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Day 6: Fly back to Entebbe / Kampala
Wake up to a relaxed breakfast, later be driven to Kisoro airfield where you will catch your flight with aero link back to Entebbe
