Day 1: Welcome to Uganda
Gorilla trekking safaris attract a fair share of travellers on safari into Uganda because of the endless possibilities of adventure and fun associated with gorilla treks. Our safari guide will be on wait as you arrive at Entebbe International Airport. He will transfer you to your hotel Kampala. Pass through your travel itinerary and chart the best way forward.
Day 2 Getting to the jungles of Bwindi
Bwindi is approximately 8 hours drive from Kampala and begin your exciting gorilla trek safari with an early morning cup of coffee. You will then set off and have a brief stop at the Equator line crossing area for photo opportunity and brief geographic study. Resume your journey and have an African buffet lunch stop in Mbarara town. Enjoy a brief break with a tour of the museum and learn more about history, geography and events that will spice up your Ugandan safari. You will then ascend the Kigezi hills with cool temperatures and arrive in the gorilla trekking ranges late afternoon and check in at your hotel.
Day 3 Gorilla trekking
This is the day to live your gorilla trek dreams. Leave your bed with an early bird and take a cup of coffee. Pack light items that are important for your gorilla trek and be to tourism office by 7.30 am to reconfirm everything is perfect. Meet other gorilla trekking members on your team, get ranger escorts and get into the forests on an exciting journey of extreme adventure and discovery. Be attentive and alert to what guides are explaining, learn as much as you can and expect scenes never seen before. Once sighted you will spend approximately an hour with the gorillas and start your descent to the base and hotel for lunch. Gorilla trekking safaris are much more than merely sighting the gorillas; you will take an afternoon guided community walk and get personal with people who have lived with the gorillas all their lifetime. Listen to their stories, songs and dance to their music. You may visit some homesteads and check their setup. You will then get back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 Transfer to Bunyonyi
Relax and shake off fatigue of gorilla trek. You will set off for Kabale after breakfast and enjoy scenic views of mist covered Kigezi hills. You will arrive at noon and check in at the hotel on the shores of beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. You will take an afternoon boat cruise to spice your gorilla trek safari and let cool lake breezes wash away all your fatigue. Relax by lakeside with a chilled glass of your favourite drink and enjoy cool caress of gentle waves as you gaze in the heavens for a stunning sunset. Take dinner and enjoy rest of your night.
Day 5 Transfer to Kampala
Today marks end of Uganda gorilla trekking safari. Get up with the first call of early bird. Grab a cup of hot coffee and set off for Kampala. You will have breakfast in Mbarara town and proceed on arriving in Kampala at noon. You will be dropped at Entebbe Airport to process your departure documentation and mark climax of Uganda safari.
