Detailed itinerary of 10 Days Gorillas and Zanzibar Adventure Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our driver guide, after a short briefing you will be transferred to your hotel in either Entebbe or Kampala.

Have dinner and overnight at Best Western Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up early for breakfast and embark on a journey of 8-9 hours’ drive to southwestern part of Uganda where Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is situated.

Bwindi Forest is one of the best destinations in the world for gorilla trekking as it is home to half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world, the forest is also home to the highest population of habituated mountain gorilla groups open for gorilla trekking.

Along the journey, you will have a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe for photographic moments and a chance to stand in two hemispheres of the world, the northern and southern hemispheres. Have another stopover in Mbarara City for lunch and then proceed with your journey to Bwindi arriving in the early evening, check in for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest & Cultural Encounter

Have early breakfast and drive to the park headquarters where you will meet UWA Rangers guide for briefing about mountain gorilla trekking and then lead you to the rainforest of Bwindi in groups of 8 people to look for these great apes.

When you locate the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence as you watch them communicate, play and jump from one tree branch to another, you are also allowed to take as many photos as possible. In addition to mountain gorillas, you will also be able to see other animals like elephants, primates like blue monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys and several bird species.

Head back to the park headquarters to pick your gorilla trekking certificates, meet your guide and head back to your lodge lunch. Later in the day you will head for a cultural encounter with the Batwa in their community, while there you will be entertained with their traditional dances, demonstration on how to make fire and skillful hunting techniques. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha Sector

After enjoying breakfast, you will drive to the Queen Elizabeth National Park accessing the park through Ishasha Sector, a popular area of the park known for the rare tree climbing lions which you will spot while on your journey.

Head to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will go for an afternoon game drive on which you will have a chance to see several animals including topis, buffaloes, lions, elephants, lions among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Morning game drive and transfer to Kampala & Fly to Zanzibar

Wake up early for breakfast, check out of your lodge and head for a morning game drive in the open grasslands of the Kasenyi Plains where you will have a greater view of the forest, lookout for animals like buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, leopards and many more.

The game drive takes approximately 2 hours and after you will embark on a journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch in Mbarara. When you arrive in Entebbe, you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight to Zanzibar.

Upon landing in Zanzibar, you will be picked up by our driver and transfer you to your hotel in Stone Town for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Stone Town Tour & Spice Tour

Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast, then head for a Stone Town City Tour and Spice Tour. While in the Stone Town you will visit some of the amazing historical sites including The Old Fort, Christ Church Cathedral, Dhow Countries Music Academy and many more.

After lunch, you will head for a Spice Tour where you will learn more about the history of Zanzibar and Spice Trade, you will spice plantation where you will be able to touch, see, smell and taste some of the species. The day will end full of memories that will forever stay with you.

Day 7-9: Beach Exploration

You will spend these three days exploring the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar and take part in a variety of beach activities like sunbathing in the morning and evening, take immaculate photos, take part in beach soccer, snorkeling and many more activities.

Day 10: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport and fly back home

 Have a leisurely breakfast, check out of your resort and be driven back to Zanzibar Airport to catch your onward flight back home bring your holiday to an end.
