Detailed itinerary of 15 Days African Safari & Primate Vacation
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and Transfer to Amboseli National Park
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative “your driver guide” and embark on a journey to Amboseli National Park.
Amboseli National Park is the second popular national park in Kenya famous for its large herds of elephants and scenic backdrop of snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa.
You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, later head out for a game drive where you expect to see large herds of elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras and giraffes while enjoying the spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 2: Full Day Game drive in Amboseli
Spend the full day of your safari exploring Amboseli, giving you plenty of time to soak up the wildlife and the magnificent scenery creating by the magical contrast of the savanna plains and the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
During the game drives, expect to see a variety of wildlife including herds of elephants, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, black rhinos, wildebeests, antelopes, hyenas among others. Have picnic lunch and continue exploring the park, later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge

Day 3: Transfer to Tarangire National Park via Arusha Town
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and with en-route lunch, embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park through Namanga border. After clearing with the border authorities, continue to Arusha where you will have lunch and later proceed to Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire is popular for its large herds of elephants and iconic baobab Trees dominating the landscape, the park is named after Tarangire River which is the main water source in the park and attracts a wide range of wildlife including buffaloes, antelopes and large herds of elephants. Arrive in the park in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Baobab Lodge

Day 4: Walking Safari in Tarangire
Have a waking safari in Tarangire National Park, wake up early for breakfast, meet your knowledgeable guide and head on an exploration adventure on foot. As you trek through the park while tracking animals, you guide will explain how to understand animal behavior. You will encounter several animals including zebras, waterbucks, impalas, ostriches, elephants and a variety of colorful birds.
Later return to your camp where you will enjoy lunch and refresh, later in the afternoon you may have a game drive or choose to just relax by the swimming.

Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti National Park (Central)
After breakfast, you will bid farewell to Tarangire and embark on a journey to Serengeti National Park’s Central Region.
Serengeti is home to a huge population of wildlife recorded to be over 3 million animals which is larger than any savannah protected area on earth. Along your journey you will visit the Olduvai Gorge “Oldupai Gorge”, this site is one of the most important paleoanthropological localities in the world. This site has exposed for hosting proven invaluable in furthering understand of early human evolution.
When you arrive in Serengeti, you will have en-route game drive as you head to lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight stay at Melia Serengeti Lodge.

Day 6-7: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti
Spend two days exploring Serengeti National Park on full day game drives with picnic lunch served at the park’s picnic site.
Serengeti National Park is a world Heritage Site teeming with wildlife and is undoubtedly the best known wildlife sanctuary, the park is the most famous in Africa due to the largest concentration of millions of wildebeests. During the game drive you will see several wildlife including the Big Five – rhino, buffaloes, elephants, lions and leopards, as well as rare animal species like East Africa Oryx, wild dogs and pangolin among others.
Day 8: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater – Game drive in Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and with en-route game drive embark on a journey to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the crater floor for a Ngorongoro crater game drive, the crater is the largest intact caldera in the world nicknamed “The Garden of Eden” on earth. During the game drive you will spot a number of animals including cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, zebras and wildebeests among other animal.
Ascend the crater, head to your lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight stay at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 9: Depart Ngorongoro – Fly to Entebbe
After breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on a journey to Arusha where you will be dropped off at Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch your flight to Uganda – Entebbe International Airport.
Upon landing, you will be welcomed by our guide and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe. Dinner and overnight at Best Western Hotel.

Day 10: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Have early breakfast, meet your guide and embark on a journey to western Uganda heading to Kibale Forest National Park – a primate capital. You will have lunch in Fort Portal and head for a visit to the beautiful Crater Lakes Area where you will enjoy the scenic views of the lakes and the terraced tea estates.
Head to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Chimpudu Lodge.

Day 11: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest & Bigodi Swamp Walk
Wake up for breakfast, meet your guide and head to the park headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee trekking by a senior ranger guide, in groups of 8 people you will enter into Kibale Forest looking for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2 – 6 hours depending on the movement of mountain gorillas and where they spent their previous night. Along the trek you will see other primates including olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys

Day 12: Transfer to Bwindi Forest
Have a leisurely breakfast, meet your guide and embark on a journey to Bwindi Forest Impenetrable National Park with a drive through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will be able to see the tree climbing lions and other animals such as zebra, buffaloes among others.
You will have en-route lunch, when you arrive in the park in the evening, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day at rest preparing yourself for the next day’s adventure.
Overnight at Buhoma Lodge
Day 13: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Wake up early for breakfast, meet your guide and head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch. Join other trekkers at the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking, after being assigned a gorilla family to trek, head into the impenetrable forests of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas. The trek through the forest takes approximately 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
Expect to see other forest creatures such as chimpanzees and several birds. When you locate the gorilla family, you are allocated one hour of being observing the these gentle giants as they go with their life in the forests, watch them groom each other and their playful baby gorillas under a watchful gaze of a silverback.
Trek back to the starting point, meet your guide and embark on a journey to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi arriving late in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Boat Safari on Lake Bunyonyi
Spend a full day enjoying the beauty of Lake Bunyonyi on a boat safari.
Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest lake in Uganda and the second deepest in Africa coming second to Lake Tanganyika in Tanzania. The lake contains a number islands which you will explore while on a boat, your guide will tell you all the beautiful stories about each island and its significance to the local people.
Day 15: Departure
Today marks your last day on this safari, you will have a leisurely breakfast, meet your guide and embark on a drive back to Kampala with en-route lunch in Mbarara. You will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport for your departure international flight, bring your safari to an end.
