Detailed Itinerary of 9 Days Tanzania and Kenya Safari  

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Your 9 Days Tanzania and Kenya Safari starts with pick up from your hotel in Nairobi or upon arrival at Jomo Kenya International Airport by your safari driver guide and begin your adventure towards Masai Mara.

Along the journey you will enjoy the amazing scenery of the countryside of Kenya and meet with the local Masai People in Narok Town, continue to Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch at your lodge after check-in.

 In the afternoon you will go for your first game drive, lookout for animals like herds of elephants, lions, zebras, gazelles, giraffes among others freely roaming the endless plains of Masai Mara. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve

Have a full day exploring the endless plains of Masai Mara National Reserve, have early breakfast and head to the reserved with your packed lunch boxes.

You will have enough time to explore the endless plains of Masai Mara and enjoy excellent sightings of the big game like lions, leopards, buffaloes, wildebeests, rhinos, cheetahs, Thomson and grant’s gazelles among others which call this spectacular ecosystem home.

In the later afternoon, you will go for a cultural visit to the Masai People, these people are the earlier residents of the area and have harmoniously thrived with wildlife for years. On your visit you will be learn more about their cultures and traditions through local dances and drama, demonstration of their skillful hunting tactics among others. Head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 &4: Masai Mara National Reserve to Serengeti National Park

Wake up for breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania with border crossing at Isebania. After clearing with the immigration authorities, you will switch vehicles to Tanzania vehicle and guide then embark on a journey towards the Ikoma Gate of Serengeti National Park with en-route lunch.

With en-route game drive you will head to your lodge, check in, and have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5&6: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park for a full day game drive with your packed lunch, on this day you have an option of uninterrupted game drives through the Serengeti with picnic lunch or a morning gam drive with a break in the afternoon, followed by a dusk time game drive in the park.

This full day game drive gives you plenty of time to explore the park and enjoy sightings of animals like zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, cheetahs, wildebeests, gazelles, giraffes, rhinos among others.

On this day you can do balloon safari soaring up the endless plains of the park and enjoy eye’s bird view of animals like lions, leopards and large herds of wildebeests among others.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

After morning breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge and exit the park heading to Ngorongoro Crater with en-route game drive to Ngorongoro crater arriving in the late afternoon.

After lunch, you will go for a guided walk on the crater rim, your guide will share an immerse volume of knowledge about the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and all its habitants including the different plants and their medicinal use, point out animal tracks and so much more. Expect to see several animals including zebras, giraffes and elephants among others. Return to the lodge.

Main Destination: Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

 After breakfast, descend down the steep walls of the caldera for a full day game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is a paradise of woodlands and lakes provide abundant wildlife which you will see during the game drives, some of the animals to lookout for include black manned lion, leopards, hyenas, giraffes, gazelles and a multitude of birds including flamingoes regularly sighted on the shores of Lake Magadi.

Ngorongoro Crater is called a Garden of Eden and during the game drive you will see why.

Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at your lodge, you will checkout and head to Tarangire National Park – home to large herds of elephants. The park has an incredibly stunning landscapes dotted with baobab trees, you will enjoy picnic lunch and go for a game drive. Among animals to lookout for include herds of elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras and olive baboons among others. Head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Main Destination: Tarangire National Park

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 9: Departure

After breakfast at your lodge, you will go for a morning game drive with your packed lunch boxes. After the game drive you will have a cultural safari visit to the local Masai people, take part in their traditional dances and so much more. Thereafter, you will enjoy your lunch and proceed on your to Arusha where your guide will drop you off, bring your safari to an end.
