Detailed Itinerary of 9 Days Serengeti Safari and Zanzibar Beach Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

You will be picked from Kilimanjaro International Airport upon arrival by our representative – your safari driver guide, after a short safari briefing you will be taken to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

Leave for Tarangire National Park, this incredible park covering approximately 2,850 square kilometers is a spectacular wildlife haven most especially during the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species from the surrounding areas flock the park to the permanent waters of Tarangire River.

Huge herds of wildebeests, zebras, elephants, eland and oryx gather to stay in Tarangire National Park until the onset of the rains when they migrate again to good grazing areas.

Tarangire National Park is renowned for hosting large herds of elephants and its spectacular landscape is dotted with the iconic baobab trees.

Day 3: Central Serengeti (Seronera)

After breakfast, checkout of the lodge, exit the park and proceed to the Central part of Serengeti National Park. This popular Tanzania Safari Destination is well-known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife particularly the Big Five – named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters – lions, leopards, elephant, buffaloes and rhinos.

With en-route game drive, head to your lodge for lunch and short rest. Return to the park for an afternoon game drive on which you will see a number of animals including lions, leopards, giraffes, cheetahs, zebras, gazelles among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Central Serengeti (Seronera)

Enjoy morning sunrise game drive with picnic breakfast, explore the endless plains of Serengeti National Park more then return to the lodge for lunch, later go for a late afternoon game drive. Or you can have an option of full day game drive with picnic breakfast and lunch in Serengeti

Later after the amazing wildlife experience driver back to the lodge after sunset for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a crater game drive with picnic lunch.

Ngorongoro Crater is the largest world intact caldera and home to about 20,000 mammals living in the crater including about 20 black rhinoceros, making the crater the best place in Tanzania to see these amazing creatures. Descend to the crater floor for the day game drive, the crater floor has one of the highest carnivore densities in the world, some of the animals to lookout for include cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, rhinos, leopards, servals and bat-eared foxes among others.

After a full day of magical wildlife experience, head to your lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Flight to Zanzibar

After breakfast, head back to Arusha and after lunch. You will take a flight from Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport for your afternoon flight to Zanzibar.

On arrival, you will be picked up by your driver and transfer to Stone Town where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 7-8: Zanzibar Beach

After breakfast, you will head out on a guided tour of Stone Town – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience tracing the footsteps of Arab Sultans on Zanzibar and ponder on the interesting historical sites and labyrinths. See the fascinating Zanzibar doors for its unique architectural tradition.

After lunch, proceed on a tour of the countryside to the spice plantations. This place has a rich history and you will be welcomed by the rich aroma of species such as nutmeg and cinnamon. Afterward, you will be taken to the beautiful Zanzibar beach.

Day 9: Departure

Enjoy a leisurely morning as well as breakfast, relax by the pool or in the beach while taking in the morning sunshine. In the afternoon, you will be picked up by your guide and take you to the airport for your onward destination or back home.
