Detailed itinerary of 7 Day  Tanzania Luxury Safari (Luxury Lodging Safari Holiday)

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha or upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and after a safari briefing you will embark on a 2 hours’ drive to Tarangire National Park.

You will be welcomed by Giant baobab trees, bush savannah and the seasonal marshes which add to the wonder of Tarangire.

Tarangire National Park is considered as one of the best places to view elephants up close, the park is home to large herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras and wildebeests which are always followed closely by a range of predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs.

From the open roof of your vehicle you will be able to absorb the landscape and watch the animals. You will enjoy picnic lunch and continue exploring the park till sunset, head to your lodge for check-in and dinner.

Day 2: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer from Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park. This incredible Tanzania Safari destination is known for its over 400 bird species, tree climbing lions, and primate filled forests and grassy plains. A large area of Lake Manyara National Park is covered by the alkaline Lake Manyara – the seasonal breeding grounds for large colonies of flamingoes and many more waterfowls.

Lake Manyara National Park is also home to giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, impalas and groups of noisy monkeys and baboons which you will enjoy watching during the game drive.

After an extensive game drive you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will head towards the Southern Serengeti via the cooler highlands, reach the plains of the Serengeti National Park in mid-day, and check in at your lodge for lunch and freshening up.

Serengeti National Park is the most popular national park in Tanzania with a diversity of habitats and landscapes – short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps and lakes. Bizarre rock formations called Kopjes dot the grassy landscape where predators like lions are often seen.

The Serengeti is famous for the yearly migration when hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebras trek to find fresh grass and water.

After sunset, head to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

Spend the entire exploring Serengeti National Park. The areas of the park you will visit depend upon where the migrating herds are, predators usually follow closely behind the trekking animals and include ions, leopards and cheetahs.

During the short rainy season in months of November and December, the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June they return up north. As the migration is completely dependent on the yearly rainfalls, the location of the herds may vary from year to year but your guide will know where to locate them and where to see them best.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Karatu

With en-route game drive, you will leave the Serengeti National Park in early afternoon to continue your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and drive to Karatu in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Here you will join a walk in the coffee plantation to learn more about the cultivation and processing of coffee. Spend the night at one of the beautiful lodges in the area.

Day 6: Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu

After breakfast, you will head back to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before you drive down into the crater, this massive volcanoes is the largest intact caldera in the world and is home to over 25,000 mammals ranging from the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopards to spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs and some of the more than 500 bird species of the Area.

After an extensive game drive in the crater floor and picnic lunch, you will leave the caldera and return to your accommodation in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Karatu – Arusha
