This tour starts from Entebbe, Uganda and ends in Kigali, Rwanda. On this adventure you will a chance to visit and explore Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda and the second deepest lake in Uganda.

In Rwanda, you will visit Volcanoes National Park and Nyungwe Forest National Park. In Congo you will visi Kahuzi Biega National Park.

Detailed itinerary of 16 Days Uganda Rwanda Congo Safari

Day 1: Arrival

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will brief you about the safari and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with visit at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After early breakfast, meet your guide and embark on a journey to Murchison Falls National Park on a journey to 5 to 6 hours heading northwest. Along the way you will enjoy scenic views of the beautiful landscape, the countryside and farmlands. Have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking on foot.

After this amazing experience you will proceed to Masindi for lunch and afterwards continue to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival you will drive to the top of the falls where you will have great views of the waterfalls from above. Drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Have early breakfast, meet your guide and head to the park for a morning game drive, you will be able to spot various animals like Uganda kobs, warthogs, giraffes, elephants, bushbucks, lions, hyenas, Jackson hartebeest and spot various bird species among others.

After the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will drive to Paraa landing site for a thrilling boat cruise to the bottom of the falls which takes about 2 to 3 hours’ cruise. During the boat trip you will be rewarded with incredible views of animals like buffaloes and elephants along the shores of the river drinking water, hippos and crocodiles in the waters of the river. The boat stops a few meters from the bottoms of falls offering you unparalleled views of the falls.

After the baot cruise, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge, meet your driver guide and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. It is a whole day journey and along the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy stunning views of the farmlands, Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations, Lake George, crater lakes among others.

Arrive in Kibale in the evening, check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters for chimpanzee trekking, join other trekker for briefing about the experience as well as the do’s and don’ts. Then enter into the forest looking for the playful chimpanzees, the trek takes approximately 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on their movement in the forest and where they spent their previous night in search for food.

During the trek you will be able to spot other primates such as grey cheeked managabey, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys and some beautiful birds. Once you find the chimpanzee family, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat, watch them feed and groom each other, take photos and record the moments.

Trek back to the park headquarters, meet your guide and head back to the lodge for lunch. Later you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way you will enjoy great views of the landscape, crater lakes, tea plantations among others and upon arrival in the park, you will have en-route game drive as you head to lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

You will have breakfast, meet up with your driver guide and go for a morning game drive or lion tracking experience in Kasenyi Plains. During the game drive you will be rewarded with great views of large herds of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, waterbucks, warthogs which will be grazing in the open savannah plains view predators like lions, leopards and a variety of bird species among others.

Return to the lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will go for an exciting boat cruise on Kazinga a water body that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. During the boat cruise which takes about 2 hours you will get a chance to view elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs drinking water along the shores, view large concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, sevral water birds like martial eagles, papyrus gonolek, pelicans among others. After the boat ride you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through Ishasha Sector, the Southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will get an opportunity to spot the tree climbing lions which will be lying up in fig tree branches.

Have en-route lunch and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and upon arrival in Bwindi, you will check in at the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

Have early breakfast, meet your guide and head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch boxes. You will have a briefing session carried out by a senior ranger about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking, in groups of 8 people you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek and head into the forest looking for the gorillas.

The trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. Upon locating the gorilla family, you are allowed to spend only one hour watching the gorillas go on with their life in the forest, take amazing pictures and observe their various traits.

Trek back to the park headquarters, meet your guide and return to your lodge, you can spend the rest of the day at rest or go for a Batwa Village Experience.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and meet up with your guide and drive to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda and the second deepest lake in Africa after Lake Tanganyika. This beautiful lake is located in Kabale and the journey takes about 4 to 5 hours’ drive.

On arrive you will check into the lodge for lunch, then go for a boat cruise on exploring the islands found in the lake, enjoy great views of the terraced farmlands, beautiful scenery among others. After the boat cruise you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge and embark on a transfer to Volcanoes National Park passing through Cyanika border in Kisoro or Katuna Border in Kabale district. Along the way you will enjoy great views of the rolling hills, countryside, terraced farmlands among others. On arrival, you will visit the magnificent twin lakes of Lake Burera and Ruhondo, then connect to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Golden Monkey Trekking and Ib’Iwacu Cultural Tour

After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for briefing about golden monkey trekking, enter into the misty forests of Volcanoes National Park in search for golden monkeys found in the bamboo forests.

The trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the golden monkeys, you will spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you a chance to watch them feed, play, jump up in trees, take photos and record several videos. After the trekking, you will return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, learn about the local people, culture, traditions and their way of living, taste their local dishes and enjoy their traditional performances. After the amazing cultural tour, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Have lunch along the way and then proceed to the park and upon arrival you will connect to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Isumo Waterfall Hike and Canopy Walk

You will have breakfast and go for an exciting nature walk in the forest, during the hike you will be able to enjoy sounds of the river flowing through the forest, view different wildlife species, birds, and plants among others. Return to the loge for lunch.

In the afternoon you will go an incredible Canopy Walk on which you will be rewarded with amazing views of wildlife species, primates, tree tops and several bird species. After the canopy walk, you will connect to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park

Have an early breakfast, check out of your lodge and transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park where you will cross into DR.Congo. Check-in with the tourism office at Grande Barrier Border and then proceed to Bukavu Town which is the nearest town. Upon arrival, you will connect to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 15: Lowland Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast, you will go for lowland gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park, the trek usually takes about 1 to 4 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family you are trekking. Once you have located the gorilla family, you will be allowed to spend one with the gorillas watching them go on with their life in their natural habitat.

After the trek, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Departure to Kigali

Have breakfast, then checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey back to Kigali City, Rwanda. You will have lunch along the way and on arrival, you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of your choice. This bring your 16 Days Uganda Rwanda Congo Safari to an end.
