Detailed itinerary of 12 Days Kenya and Tanzania Combined Safari

Day 1: Tarangire National Park Game Drive

You shall be picked up by your guide from Kilimanjaro International Airport upon arrival, he will give you a warm briefing about the safari and proceed to transfer to Tarangire National Park – a Tanzania popular national park well known for large herds of elephants and the iconic Baobab Trees dotting the landscape.

When you arrive in the park, you will embark on a game drive. Lookout for different wildlife species such as elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, zebras, lions, leopards among others. After the game drive you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Drive, Walking Safari

Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast and head out for en-route game drive and you head to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descend about 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive.

As you explore the Ngorongoro Crater Floor, lookout for several wildlife species including elephants, lions, buffaloes, rhinos, hippos, antelopes, kudu, zebras, impalas, gazelles among others. You will also visit Lake Magadi in the crater where you will see flamingoes and other bird species like flamingoes.

After your picnic lunch in the wild, head out for a walking safari experience on the rim of the crater for an opportunity to come-up close with nature and wild game including zebras, antelopes among others. You will be guided by a ranger guide, then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

After a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge at your leisure, you shall proceed to check out of the lodge and proceed for a transfer to Serengeti National Park with en-route game drive through the Ngorongoro.

Enjoy your packed lunch in the wilderness of the Serengeti over a picnic and then proceed to embark on an afternoon game drive looking out for various wildlife including the Big Five and predators. Proceed to your lodge for check, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4&5: Full Day Serengeti National Park

Start your day early with breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for a full day of game viewing in Serengeti National Park, you will start with a morning game drive in the plains of Serengeti looking for several wildlife species. Some of the animals to lookout for include elephants, wildebeests, cheetahs, antelopes, kudus, giraffes, waterbucks, zebras, gazelles among others.

You will enjoy picnic lunch and have another game drive search for more wildlife species you might have missed during the morning game drive. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at your lodge as above.

Day 6: Transfer to Masai Mara Reserve

After breakfast at the lodge, depart from Serengeti and proceed to Masai Mara National Reserve with border crossing at Isebania Border. After clearing with the immigrations office, you will change into Kenya vehicle and proceed to Masai Mara. With en-route game drive you will head to your lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7&8: Full day game drive in Masai Mara national reserve, Maasai Cultural Experience

Spend these two days exploring the endless plains of Masai Mara National Reserve and iconic game viewing destination in Kenya, the reserve is a great habitat for many animals which are easily spotted on a game drive. Some of the animals to lookout for include lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, buffaloes, zebras, hyenas among others.

On these two days you will visit the Maasai Tribe – one of the most amazing tribes of Africa, learn more about their culture, customs and be entertained by local dances and drama. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Drive to Lake Nakuru national park, Game Drive

Have breakfast at your lodge, check out and embark on a journey to Lake Nakuru National Park across the Rift Valley Escarpment as you enjoy the beautiful scenery. Have en-route lunch and when you arrive in the park, you will have a game drive exploring the park and enjoying sightings of wildlife including giraffes, rhinos, gazelles, buffaloes, antelopes, reedbucks, elands, impalas among others.

Day 10: Drive to Amboseli National Park, Walking Safari

Enjoy early breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on a journey to Amboseli National Park with a drive through the rift valley escarpment as you proceed to Nairobi.

With your packed lunch, you will continue your drive to Amboseli National Park arriving in the late afternoon. With en-route game drive you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Full Day Game Drive

After a delicious breakfast, you will head to the beautiful Amboseli National Park for a full day game drive. Amboseli is the second popular national park in Kenya renowned for the scenic back drop of Mount Kilimanjaro and large herds of elephants, during the game drive you will encounter large herds of elephants, other animals to lookout for include giraffes, zebras, lions, buffaloes among others.

You will enjoy picnic lunch and continue exploring the park till sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Departure

After a delicious breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on a journey to Nairobi with en-route game drive. When you arrive in Nairobi, you will have lunch and be dropped off either at the hotel or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your onward flight bring your safari to an end.
