Detailed itinerary of 11 Days Gorilla Trekking and Wildebeest Migration Serengeti Safari
Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha City
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and transfer to your hotel in Arusha.
The drive from the Airport to your hotel will give you a good introduction to Tanzania, have dinner and overnight as you prepare for your next day adventure.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park a scenic Tanzania Safari Destination renowned for its large herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire is a lovely park to visit.
When you arrive in the park, you will have a game drive and picnic lunch. Some of the animals to lookout for include herds of elephants, zebras, buffaloes, gazelles, wildebeests among others. After witnessing the magical sunset, head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, meet your guide and embark on a journey to Serengeti National Park – the most popular safari destination in Africa as well as Tanzania. Named “The Serengeti” meaning “The Endless Plains”, the park is well known for its rich concentration of wildlife particularly the Big 5 – lion, leopard, elephant, rhinos and buffaloes.
Serengeti National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to around 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson gazelles that join the wildebeests on an annual trek in search for grazing and water. You will be fascinated by the exotic sounds of over 6 million hooves pounding the open plains of Serengeti.
After a long day of safari with picnic lunch. Head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park (Central – North)
After breakfast, depart to North Serengeti for a full day of witnessing the Wildebeest Migration as it takes place, the resident wildlife numbers in the Wagakuria area are exceptionally high, with prides of lions up to 30 individuals.
The Key feature in the area is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River North on one day and then back south a few days later.
Caution – to actually find a river crossing is very difficult and is sometimes a matter of luck.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park (North – Full Day)
Spend full day in Wagakuria Area following the migration, in addition to the hundreds of wildebeests, the area’s resident wildlife numbers are exceptional and some of the animals to lookout for include lions, cheetahs, African wild dogs, zebras, gazelles, giraffes among others.
This area is a stunning region with Kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation and open plains.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with en-route game drive and picnic lunch.
When you arrive in Ngorongoro, you will have a guided nature walk around the crater rim for a close encounter with several wildlife species including zebras, giraffes among others while your rangers shares knowledge about them and the areas as well.

Day 7: Full Day Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you will descend to the crater floor for a full day game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is a world-renowned attraction in Tanzania and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ngorongoro Crater was formed around two to three million years ago, following a massive volcanic eruption. It is the world’s largest inactive, unbroken and unfilled volcanic caldera and hosts a diverse and concentrated population of wildlife including the Big Five.
During the crater game drive you will enjoy seeing abundance of wildlife that call the crater home including zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, wildebeest, hippo, elephants and a variety of predators such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and even the elusive leopard.
Overnight stay at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge
Day 8: Transfer to Arusha and Fly to Entebbe
Have early breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on a journey back to Arusha where you will be dropped off at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight to Entebbe International Airport.
On arrival at Entebbe, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Forest
Have early breakfast, meet your guide and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the best place to see the endangered mountain gorillas. Along the way you will have a stop at the Equator in Kayabawe for pictures and a chance to stand in both Northern and Southern Hemispheres at the same time. Have another stop in Mbarara for lunch and continue to Bwindi arriving in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
Wake up early for breakfast, meet your guide and transfer you to the park’s headquarters for briefing with your packed lunch boxes. A senior ranger from Uganda Wildlife Authority will take you through rules and regulations to follow while in the presence of the gorillas, in groups of 8 people you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek then head into the Bwindi Forest looking for the gorillas.
The trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours or more and when you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend only hour in their presence watching them go on with their life in the forest, watch them groom each other and take as many photos as possible.
Trek back to the back headquarters, meet your guide and head back to your lodge for an evening of rest, have dinner and overnight.
Overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge.
Day 11: Departure
Have breakfast, meet your guide and embark on a journey back to Entebbe with en-route lunch. You will be dropped off at the airport to catch your onward flight bringing your adventure to an end.
